The Best 6 easy Habits for a productive Lifestyle
To have a more productive life, it is important to perform daily habits that have a good effect on performance. These habits take time to establish, but once they are ingrained, you will have a huge spike in productivity. Just as you brush your teeth every day, you will also perform these habits every day without any problems. Here are the 6 best habits for a productive lifestyle.
1. Cold showers
At first, it’s hard to see what productivity and cold showers have in common, but they do have an effect on productivity. Cold showers are best taken at the start of the day, preferably ice cold. This can be a shock at first, but being in this uncomfortable situation will toughen you up. Above all, it will make you more disciplined, which will automatically make you work better and harder. It’s also better to do the hard things first during the day, including the cold shower. The harder it is for you to overcome, the easier your other tasks will be. As with all your other tasks, it’s simply a matter of “doing”. All productive people have this mindset of simply doing the hard things without hesitation. So try a cold shower the next morning and overtime increase the degree of coldness and length.
2. Get up early
Are you an early riser or a late riser? Getting up early has an advantage that you can use, especially if you get up at 5am. I used to wake and stay up late myself. So I was impressed by the effect of this habit. By getting up early, you are a step ahead of most people who are probably still asleep at this time of day. This also means that you can get your work done earlier. If you start work at 6 AM, you will have already worked for 6 hours by 12 AM. Late risers only start working here. In addition, getting up early can lead to less stress and less depression, it is generally good for your mental health. This is also due to the fact that your sleep rhythm improves dramatically, as we sleep better when it’s dark outside.
Do you work effectively in the evening? It’s very likely that you don’t, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this article. Why don’t you try it out first, it will make your life much more productive. Note, however, that it takes a while before getting up early becomes easy.
3. Daily exercise
Daily exercise is just as important as other habits, even if the effect on productivity is harder to recognize at first. However, the effects on physical and mental health are extremely important when it comes to performance. Depending on your current fitness level, you will feel much better after exercising for a while. Sport not only makes you more efficient, it also makes you happy. It can also be a good distraction from the stress of everyday life.
4. Creative Hobbies
In addition to being productive, you should also organize appropriate free time. It’s great to work, but you also need free time for yourself. You shouldn’t just sit around watching TV or consuming social media, no, it should be something proactive and preferably creative. Such a hobby will give you a good balance between work and leisure, which will help you recharge faster and be more productive again. If you only work instead, you will gradually lose productivity and become unefficient.
We want to avoid this as much as possible. But this can also be any hobby, as long as it is creative. Anything goes, from drawing to music. In my case, I use my free time to care for and design my plants, especially bonsai trees. Find a hobby that you like, and yes, creative video games count too, as long as you don’t spend too much of the day in front of the PC. One important Hobby that will also improve your education is reading, you can find out more about this here. Afterall having a creative hobby will reduce your stress and therefore make you more productive.
5. Meditation
One of the most important habits is meditation, which you should practice several times a day if possible. There is a wide variety of types of meditation with different effects. In the most common meditations, you focus on your breath, which can improve your focus immensely. But there are also other effects, e.g. meditation can help you fall asleep, fight addictions or deal with negative feelings. One type of meditation that I often practice is meditating on my dreams and goals. This motivates me immensely and constantly reminds me of the path I want to take without getting distracted. Try it out for yourself, I can recommend the “Medito” app, which is available free of charge for Apple and Android.
6. Journaling
Finally, the most important daily habit – journaling. For this you need paper and a pen, nothing more. You can take this with you wherever you go and make notes. It’s best to do this in the evening, but you can also do it in the morning.
Firstly, you should write down what you are grateful for. This helps you to better appreciate your life. Then write down your successes, this will give you a sense of achievement. Now write down all the problems you can think of and how you can improve them. Through this reflection, you can improve a little every day and have another slight edge. Finally, reflect on your emotions and events, anything that has affected you positively or negatively.
With this habit you will quickly achieve success and have a more productive lifestyle, it’s best if you try it today.
